Colorado Ski Resort Recommedations Needed!?
I am thinking about going for a week-long ski trip with my uncle during Spring Break (Late March) in CO and was looking for some recommendations from a skiier’s point of view. We are black/double black skiiers, but we’ll ski the simple stuff every once in a while. Here are some of our preferences:
-A variety of terrain is best (the bigger the better)
-Lots of (at least) somewhat challenging terrain (sorry Steamboat, that excludes you!).
-Little/no crowds and lines.
-Amenities are not a priority, we’re just here for the skiing. However, a ski in-ski out accessible mountain would be nice.
Well, that’s about it. The only other issue I have is that our budget needs to be as low as possible. Also, I have already skied Vail, so I’d like to try something different. As of now, Telluride seems to best fit my criteria, but I need some recommendations from the locals. Thanks in advance for any answers!
There is only one resort I have skied in CO, but I would HIGHLY recommend it, Crested Butte. It has a great variety of terrain for a real skier. Big mountain, chill atmosphere, an extreme skier reputaion type of mountain. I have always wanted to go back. And from what I hear from a lot of CO skiers, they love this place. I have skied a lot of big mountains in the US. Jackson Hole, Park City, Snowbird, Mammoth, Squaw. This is right up there.
