Where should I move to?
I’m graduating this spring and want to get out of Michigan in favor of a better economic climate. I want to live somewhere environmentally friendly, liberal/progressive, not terribly cold or hot, and relatively close to ski resorts. I have a Communication degree, so I can get a job at pretty much any major corporation, or in public relations.
I’m considering places like Chicago, Portland, Vancouver, Seattle, Albequerque, Boulder, Nashville, Savannah, Boston and a few others.
Just looking for Ideas here, or any more info about the places I’ve listed.
Or, where do you live? What are some of the pros/cons of being there?
Thanks
P.S. I forgot to add that I don’t want to live anywhere in California, or New York City.
Since it sounds like you are really into the outdoors I would recommend that Pacific Northwest or Colorado. Portland, Seattle, and Boulder all have what you are looking for since those areas are noted for being laid backed and for being progressive in nature. The people of Seattle and Portland are very much involved with the environment and view themselves as being stewards of the earth. Where else can you live where on the drive to work you can look over at Lake Washington and then admire the surrounding ring of mountains? There are many opportunities for skiing in Seattle and you can even get up to Whistler in British Columbia for the weekend in you so choose. Whistler even has a triple black diamond run. There’s so much to do in Seattle and Portland! There’s many cultural events and always something going on. Even if you don’t have a lot of money to spend you can find something to do for the weekend. Check out Citysearch.com too in order to get a better picture of the areas.
