The first thing that stood out to me this year for trends are the colors.
Most of the time black, white and grey have dominated the market but this year color is making more of a appearance. Green, red, orange, purple have surfaced as fun colors for both men and women.
Texture is another stand out. Many ski companies like Obermeyer and Spyder are creating pants with embossing, which is putting a tone on tone print that is raised on the fabric. Herringbone is another great fabric that makes ski wear look more like fashion wear.
Pants are being made in a boatload of different fits. You can almost shop for a ski pant like you would for a jean. There are slim fitting or stretch which hug the body more is almost retro but the fabrics have such great technology now you won’t have to worry about waterproofing, breathability or comfort. Regular or straight cuts are the mainstream. Lowrise and pockets on the back that look like jeans are very popular too. Beltloops are fun where you can actually add your favorite belt like a pair of jeans. Ski pants are also being made with four way stretch fabrics. This adds to comfort and mobility especially when your on the hill for a full day.
Pockets are becoming more plentiful. With everyone carrying more tech devices you need more storage space and pants with cargo or zipped pockets are handy.
Whatever your interest is, there is plenty of new great ski pants out there. Never buy your pants too big or you will get cold.
